INSTITUTION PROFILE (CITYU)
ELIGIBILITY

To apply for senior-year (Advanced Standing II) admission under the Special Admission Scheme (SAS), you must be a final-year student or graduate of an AD/HD programme recognised by the University.

No CGPA or overall mark requirements are set for the purpose of application. However, as competition for admission is keen, accepted applicants are normally expected to have completed an AD/HD with a CGPA ≥ 3.0 or an equivalent overall mark, or a credit award. Individual programmes may set higher requirements.

For final-year AD/HD students, offers of admission will be conditional upon the successful attainment of an AD/HD award, accompanied by a specified CGPA, overall mark or award classification if deemed appropriate.

Senior-year (Advanced Standing II) admission is only available to local students.

AD/HD graduates who do not receive a senior-year (Advanced Standing II) place may be considered for Advanced Standing I admission.

Please refer to the Information Page of Senior-year Admission[i] for details.

 CREDIT TRANSFER / EXEMPTION

Students admitted with ASI or ASII will not be entitled to credit transfer on the basis of qualifications attained prior to their admission to the University. Instead, students may be granted exemption from specific courses based on prior study. Credit units are not earned for exempted courses.

Please refer to Credit Transfer / Course Exemption Guidelines[ii] for details.

UNIT REQUIREMENT Students admitted with ASII (senior year) must achieve a minimum of 60 credit units for graduation, subject to the requirements of individual degrees/majors, and the maximum number of credit units completed should not exceed 84.

Please refer to the Curriculum Structure of Bachelor’s Degree Programmes[iii] for details.

NORMATIVE STUDY PERIOD 3 years for Advanced Standing I; 2 years for Advanced Standing II
