ELIGIBILITY | To apply for senior year admission to PolyU full-time government-funded bachelor’s degree programmes, you must meet the following general entrance requirements and the programme-specific entrance requirements, if any. CREDIT TRANSFER / EXEMPTION | Students should submit an application for credit transfer upon your initial enrolment on the programme or before the end of the add/drop period of the first semester of your first year of study. For students admitted to an Articulation Degree or Senior Year curriculum which is already a reduced curriculum, further credit transfer will normally not be possible, and credit transfer for any required GUR subjects will not be given. UNIT REQUIREMENT | For students admitted to PolyU articulation degree programmes or the senior year curriculum of our 4-year undergraduate degree programmes, they will follow a reduced curriculum and are required to complete a minimum of 60 credits. Some programmes may require up to 75 credits in order to be eligible for graduation. For details of curriculum framework, please refer to Curriculum Structure of SYA Students[iv]. |
NORMATIVE STUDY PERIOD | Bachelor’s degree programmes for Associate Degree or Higher Diploma graduates normally take two-years. Programmes that include professional training in industry, commerce and the public sector may take an additional year. ELIGIBILITY |
To apply for senior-year (Advanced Standing II) admission under the Special Admission Scheme (SAS), you must be a final-year student or graduate of an AD/HD programme recognised by the University. No CGPA or overall mark requirements are set for the purpose of application. However, as competition for admission is keen, accepted applicants are normally expected to have completed an AD/HD with a CGPA ≥ 3.0 or an equivalent overall mark, or a credit award. Individual programmes may set higher requirements. For final-year AD/HD students, offers of admission will be conditional upon the successful attainment of an AD/HD award, accompanied by a specified CGPA, overall mark or award classification if deemed appropriate. Senior-year (Advanced Standing II) admission is only available to local students. AD/HD graduates who do not receive a senior-year (Advanced Standing II) place may be considered for Advanced Standing I admission. CREDIT TRANSFER / EXEMPTION |
Students admitted with ASI or ASII will not be entitled to credit transfer on the basis of qualifications attained prior to their admission to the University. Instead, students may be granted exemption from specific courses based on prior study. Credit units are not earned for exempted courses. Please refer to Credit Transfer / Course Exemption Guidelines[ii] for details. |
UNIT REQUIREMENT | Students admitted with ASII (senior year) must achieve a minimum of 60 credit units for graduation, subject to the requirements of individual degrees/majors, and the maximum number of credit units completed should not exceed 84.

ELIGIBILITY |
AD/ HD holders or students studying in the final year of AD /HD programmes may apply for Year 2 or 3 entry upon the satisfaction of University Entrance Requirements, English Language Requirements and Programme Entrance Requirements (if any)[ii]. A few programme required to meet the Chinese language qualification. Applicants applying to the programme are expected to have a Chinese language qualification as deemed acceptable by the University. CREDIT TRANSFER / EXEMPTION |
Senior Year Admissions (Year 3 entry) will be recommended for unit transfer of 51-64 units or up to 50% of the total number of units in the Programme[i] [ii]. Additional unit transfer or exemption are subject to the major/concentration/specialty of their sub-degree programmes and may be considered depending on qualifications on a case-by-case basis by department[iii]. UNIT REQUIREMENT |
Students are approved for graduation after the fulfilment of all graduation requirements, including University General Requirements, Programme Requirements, Unit Requirements and Grade Point Average (GPA) Requirements. Please refer to "Graduation, Graduation Honours and Honours Classifications" of the University Undergraduate Student Handbook 2019-2020[iii] and Programme Structure of General Education[iv] for details. |
NORMATIVE STUDY PERIOD |
Senior Year Admissions generally refer to the direct entry to Year 3 of 4-year undergraduate programmes which will complete the study within 2 years normally. Students directly admitted to year 2 intake will complete the study within 3 years normally. The study period of individual student vary depending on their study plans and specific programme requirements. |

CREDIT TRANSFER / EXEMPTION |
Students admitted with Advanced Standing, apart from exemption from ELTU1001, CHLT1100/1200, 6 or 9 units of UGE courses, 1 unit of IT requirement and 1 unit of PE may be granted further exemption from the 3-unit Year 2 English course, the non-credit bearing Chinese Language courses and specific courses based on specified qualifications and requirements obtained prior to student registration. For further exemption of the language courses, students should follow the application procedures and observe the specified deadlines on the homepage of the Registration and Examinations Section. For further exemption of the specific courses of various Faculties based on specified qualifications prior to student registration, students should submit application via CUSIS, and observe the relevant principles listed in CUHK RES Course & Unit Exemptions for Undergraduate Students[ii]. |
UNIT REQUIREMENT |

Those admitted via senior year admission route have already been granted credit transfer up to 60 credit points (cps) and expected to complete the programmes within 2 academic years. They are no longer entitled to apply for credit transfer of individual courses based on their entrance qualifications. |
UNIT REQUIREMENT |
Students admitted via senior year admission route are required to complete a minimum of 60 credit points. To achieve the best learning outcomes, some students without relevant academic background may be required to study additional courses to meet the curriculum requirements. Necessary support will be given to ensure that they can cope with the additional workload during their studies. |

Year 3 Entry Final year students and graduates of locally accredited Associate Degree or Higher Diploma programmes from institutions in Hong Kong, in discipline(s) highly related to Chinese, Business Administration, Corporate Governance, Financial Technology, History, Human Management Resource – Applied Psychology, Risk Management, Digital Marketing, Economics and Finance, Law and Business or Sociology. Applicants should have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (out of a 4.0 scale) or above in completion of their sub-degree studies. All applicants are required to attend an admission interview and pass the language courses offered by HKSYU in Summer prior to the commencement of their study at HKSYU. Students admitted to Year 2/3 at the University will be granted the Common Block Credit Transfer (CBCT) unless otherwise specified.
